Check professional fit, not only credentials
Ask which qualification is relevant to the requested service, who issued it, whether it can be verified, and what continuing education the coach completes. Then ask for experience with the user’s actual level, equipment, schedule, and constraints.
A general personal-training credential does not automatically establish expertise in rehabilitation, clinical nutrition, pregnancy, or treatment of a medical condition. Appropriate coaches explain their boundaries and referral process.
- Identity and verifiable qualification
- Experience with the specific population and goal
- First aid or emergency process where relevant
- Clear scope of practice and referral boundaries
