Terms of Use for Novol VPN

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Novol VPN mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Novol ("Novol", "we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. The Service

Novol VPN provides encrypted virtual private network (VPN) connectivity using industry-standard protocols (including WireGuard) to help protect your internet traffic in transit. The Service may include server selection, subscription management, account authentication, and related features.

The Service is provided for lawful personal use only. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Account & Subscription

3.1 Account

Certain features may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3.2 Subscriptions & Payments

Paid access may be offered through auto-renewable subscriptions (for example, com.novol.novolvpn.monthly) processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or other authorized payment providers.

  • Payment, billing, and refunds for in-app purchases are handled by the applicable store or payment provider under their terms.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device account settings (e.g., Apple ID → Subscriptions).
  • Prices, trial periods, and features may change; applicable terms are shown at the time of purchase.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access during network outages, maintenance, or events beyond our reasonable control.

3.3 Card Payments via YooKassa (Russia)

For users in Russia, Premium access may also be purchased with a one-time bank card payment processed by YooKassa, an independent payment processor that handles card details on its own systems. Novol does not receive or store your card details.

  • This is a single payment for a fixed period (1 month or 1 year), not an auto-renewable subscription — no card is stored and no repeat charge is made.
  • Premium access activates once the payment is confirmed and lasts for the paid period. A new payment is required to continue after it ends.
  • Refund requests are handled under applicable Russian consumer protection law and can be sent to support@novol.app with the payment date and account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
  • Engage in fraud, abuse, harassment, or unauthorized access to systems or networks
  • Distribute malware, spam, or conduct denial-of-service attacks
  • Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Transmit illegal content or facilitate illegal activity
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or compromise our infrastructure or other users
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission
  • Circumvent technical limits, authentication, or usage restrictions

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.

5. Privacy & No-Logging Commitment

Our data practices are described in the Privacy Policy. Novol VPN is designed to minimize collection of browsing activity and VPN traffic content. Operational data may still be processed as described in the Privacy Policy for account management, billing, security, and service reliability.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third parties (authentication providers, app stores, payment processors, hosting, analytics). Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing:

  • A VPN encrypts traffic in transit but does not make you anonymous, invisible, or immune from tracking by websites, apps, or networks outside the VPN tunnel.
  • You are solely responsible for compliance with laws in your jurisdiction regarding VPN use and internet activity.
  • We do not guarantee specific speeds, server availability, geographic access, or compatibility with every website or service.
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional security, legal, or compliance advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NOVOL AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD 100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Novol and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, website, or email. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance. The current version is always available at this page.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Novol as the service provider, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
